Springdales Dhaula Kuan Junior School celebrates its annual day in style

The Annual Day celebrations of the Junior School of Springdales, Dhaula Kuan New Delhi on Tuesday culminated in the prize-distribution ceremony. The celebrations can be summed up as a fusion of academics and cultural extravaganza blended with lots of fun.

The event was presided over by Mrs Deepa Grover, former headmistress of the Springdales School Dhaula Kuan and a member of the Springdales Education Society.

Principal of the School Mrs. Ritu Madan, welcoming the audience to the Ruby Jubilee Annual Day Celebrations in her address, said under the enlightened and humane education aptly conceptualised by the learned founder, Late Mrs. Rajni Kumar, and carried forward by founder principal Dr Jyoti Bose, the school is scaling newer and greater heights.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the Managing Board of the School, Dr. A Sankara Reddy, reiterated that Springdalian education is one of the finest in the country.

Greeting the audience on the occasion, he said it was a privilege and a matter of pride for him to be the chairman of such a reputed institution.

The Annual Report of the junior school presented by the principal, headmistress, and Junior prefects highlighted the achievements of the school, the laurels it earned, and innovations during the passing year.

Former headmistress and chief guest Mrs. Grover, after giving away Special Awards to the multifaceted students for their excellence in the spheres of academics, performing arts, public speaking, and art, praised their dedication and congratulated their parents.

She encapsulated the true essence of Springdalian Education, which has always been child-centered, integrated, and skill-based, and further emphasised that the school is a ‘Dale of Happy Children’ and that schooling at the Springdales emphasises creating young enlightened citizens who work with verve and vitality and are an asset to the society.

Meanwhile, the Junior Choir of the school kept the audience spellbound with their rendition of “The Tiger Anthem”, an ode to India’s National animal.

The anthem was sung for the first time to mark the 50th anniversary of Project Tiger with a message to raise awareness about the urgent need to save the majestic creature from extinction.

The children also sang “How Far I’ll Go”, a song from Walt Disney`s animated feature film “Moana”, which carries a powerful message of perseverance, resilience, and finding one`s own way in the world.

Toward the end of the event, a mesmerising dance presentation was put up by the students “Celebrating Diversity” with a fusion of Mexican and Odissi dance forms.

‘Vote of Thanks’ was proposed by madam principal Mrs Madan with a compliment to the students and the staff for their spectacular performance.
